What Is International OSHA?

International OSHA training provides industry-specific OSHA safety training to workers located anywhere in the world.

Due to OSHA regulations, workers in areas outside of OSHA's jurisdiction are not eligible to participate in OSHA-authorized Outreach training. Fortunately, international workers can access equivalent training on OSHA safety and health standards through the International OSHA training program.

Our 10- and 30-hour International OSHA courses are available in industry-specific versions — construction and general industry — to ensure you're trained to avoid hazards you'll likely encounter on the job.

Who Needs 10-Hour International OSHA Training?

10-hour International OSHA training is designed for entry-level workers in construction and general industry. It is ideal for workers who do not qualify for OSHA Outreach training because they are located outside of OSHA's jurisdiction.

OSHA's jurisdiction includes:

  • The United States
  • District of Columbia
  • Commonwealth of Puerto Rico
  • Virgin Islands
  • American Samoa
  • Guam
  • Wake Island
  • Johnston Island
  • The Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands
  • Outer Continental Shelf Lands as defined in the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act

The 10-hour construction course is appropriate for international workers who perform new construction, alterations or repairs. If you work in an industry other than construction, agriculture or maritime, you should take the 10-hour general industry course.

What Are the Benefits of International OSHA Training?

International OSHA training introduces entry-level workers to OSHA safety requirements and a variety of critical workplace safety topics. Workers located anywhere in the world can complete this training 100% online to learn skills that prevent injuries and keep workplaces safe and productive.

Immediately after you pass the final exam, you can download your Certificate of Completion. You will also receive a digital wallet card that you can print and carry with you as proof of your training history.

Which International OSHA Course Do I Need?

10-Hour International OSHA training courses are available in two industry-specific versions: construction and general industry. To ensure you're properly trained to identify and avoid workplace hazards, you should select the version that best aligns with your industry and job functions.

The 10-hour construction course is designed for entry-level workers in construction, demolition, building development and other construction fields. It includes a detailed overview of the most common risks of construction work, including fall hazards, caught-in or -between hazards, struck-by hazards and electrocution.

The 10-hour general industry course is appropriate for entry-level workers in any industry outside of construction, agriculture or maritime. This training is ideal for workers in manufacturing, factory operations, warehousing and storage, health care and more.

The general industry course covers a wide range of occupational hazards, including hazards related to walking and working surfaces, materials handling, bloodborne pathogens, fires, machinery and more.
