Frequently Asked Questions

Does my certificate expire?

No. However, rescue technicians must perform simulated rescues at least once every 12 months and should repeat their training every year. This course is suitable for both initial education and annual refresher training.

What are the requirements for confined space entry and rescue?

Tight spaces can be deadly. Workers in these restrictive environments face toxic atmospheres, high temperatures, crushing hazards, envelopment and other dangers.

Each year, these hazards cause more than 100 workplace fatalities in the United States. Approximately 60% of those deaths are rescuers who perish while attempting to save others. OSHA created the requirements for working in confined spaces, found in 29 CFR 1910.146, which reduce deaths among untrained rescuers and increase the chances of successful extraction.
