Course Details

Our MSHA Part 46 courses provide comprehensive safety training and potentially life-saving information to miners, supervisors, construction workers, contractors and other employees at Part 46 mines.

The 8-hour MSHA Part 46 New Miner Training Course educates new miners about MSHA regulations and safety requirements so they can start work at a surface mine. Our 8-hour MSHA Part 46 Refresher Training Course helps current miners satisfy their annual retraining requirement.

Modules

For each training course, you will progress through eight timed modules:

  1. Introduction to MSHA
  2. Overview of Surface Mining
  3. Health Hazards in Mining
  4. Hazard Communication
  5. Electricity, Fire and Explosives
  6. Mining Machinery and Equipment
  7. Materials Handling and Storage
  8. Mining Health and Safety Standards

You are required to pass a quiz before you can advance to the next module. Once all modules are completed, you must pass a 20-question final exam. You have an unlimited number of attempts to pass the quizzes and final exam.
